- Useless Politicians in the District
of Columbia
-
- I've been around for quite
a long time and remember Presidents first-hand from as far back
as Dwight Eisenhower. Never in all of these years have I personally
experienced such depth of partisan politics leading to a total
shutdown of negotiations, compromise, and even outright corruption
(through lobbying and corporate pay offs). Our Congress is primarily
made up of a Millionaire's Club as it takes that kind of money
to purchase a ticket to election. The bulk of our corporate
politicians are bought and paid for from the moment
they enter the federal government campaign arena until they practice
as a U. S. Senator or Representative. These elected government
officials have made so many promises that it is impossible for
them to honor these promises. It's just an unfortunate fact of
elected and even appointed federal officials today. This process
knows no boundaries of political persuasion (party allegiance)
since it generally applies to most all politicians.
-
- The Congressional "Super
Committee" is still another example of useless politicians
in D. C., all of whom seem incapable of compromise. Let me
pose a question to our Senators and Representatives: DON'T
YOU GET IT? Although I already know the answer, they don't! We
still want members of Congress to compromise and work together
to find resolution to our country's problems regardless of your
party affiliation! Since you already enjoy and are guaranteed
high quality health care and retirement packages as well as reasonable
salaries coupled with the opportunity to make millions of dollars
through book authoring, public appearances, and from lobbyist
contributions, why not help us Americans by resolving our economic
distress through a focus on joblessness, deficit spending, national
debt, our troubled public education system, the numerous small
business failures, taxing those who can afford to pay more than
those who can barely make ends meet, providing ample contributions
to members of the U. S. Armed forces deployed for us, and by
offering adequate and ample funding for our Medicare and Social
Security systems. Take care of the U. S. first and only then
look to help other countries and people! Obviously, you
are aware of the suffering children and adults living in poverty,
being abused, and sick without health care (often terminally
ill) in the U. S. A. today! Help us FIRST!
-
- Oh well, why should it change
now, when our nation's value system is eroding just like our
environment. Who cares? You federal elected and appointed officials
should, but then you're just useless politicians in the
District of Columbia.
